A BARNSLEY veterinary practice is celebrating 16 years of business, in which it has gone from strength to strength.

Vets4Pets on Wilthorpe Road, Barnsley, was opened on March 25, 2002 by Dr Peter Richards and Dr Caroline Richards.

Over the years, it has introduced 24 hour opening and now employs 50 members of staff. The practice also has a hospital and hydrotherapy suite.

Practice manager Louise Harrington said Caroline has a certificate in endoscopes, which allows visual examinations of internal organs, and also has a passion for laparoscopy, also known as keyhole surgery. Caroline is one of 13 surgeons in the world to hold this certificate.

Peter holds a certificate in advanced veterinary practice and a post graduate certificate in veterinary professional studies. He is skilled across all surgery including more complex referral work.

Louise said: “Our aim is to provide exceptional client service and give the best clinical care through the pet’s life. With our team of vets, nurses, receptionists and support staff, each person in the practice provides a piece of the jigsaw which makes Barnsley Vets4Pets who we are.

“Here is to yet another birthday and another year to come with some very exciting changes and projects in place.”
