A WOMBWELL primary school has had three benches stolen which had been bought with funds raised by the parents' group.

The three benches, which cost a total of £300, had been bought from Wentworth Saw Mill for the children to use in outdoor activities and during playtime.

Diane Dawson, a member of the parents' group and part of the dinner staff at Park Street said: "The benches were the first things we had bought with the money we raised, and the children have been using them since the end of June for working outdoors and just enjoying the playground."

The parents' group, which consists of four parents who all work at the school, raised money for the benches through fundraising events such as coffee mornings.

If you have any benches or brackets to offer Park Street Primary, get in touch with the school on 752029.
