A PROFESSIONAL boxer from Barnsley has decided to hang up his own gloves following the tragic death of a former gym partner last weekend.
Super-middleweight Ben Davies, 28, used to train with Scott Westgarth who died following a bout at the Doncaster Dome last month.
Ben, a father of two, said the death of Scott, who lived in Penistone, made him consider his own health and he has decided to pull out of a scheduled championship contest in Barnsley next weekend and call an end to his five-year career.
