A BARNSLEY charity that offers carers and volunteers time away from their caring duties has just celebrated 25 years of providing respite care.

Crossroads Care Barnsley, based on the Maple Estate, Stocks Lane, provides direct support services to carers around Barnsley to help give them a life outside their caring role.

The care provided by Crossroads means that carers can have time out to pursue a hobby, study, meet with friends and family, take a holiday or even just have a few hours rest.

Joseph David, chief executive of Crossroads Care Barnsley, said: “We provide care, regulated care and a sitting service so that people can have the time out they need. I would like to give a special mention to Julie Green, the care manager, and Cheryl French, a care support worker, for all of their hard work and dedication to Crossroads Care.

“Both Julie and Cheryl started as care support workers when Crossroads was first established back in August 1993.”
