IF you haven't heard already - DJ Simon Hirst is now Stephanie Hirst.
Hirsty's momentous decision to announce her gender reassignment quickly became the most-read story in the history of the Barnsley Chronicle website when the news broke on Saturday night.
The former presenter of the Hit40 UK chart show, and Hirsty's Daily Dose on Capital FM, says she had been apprehensive about the response to her news but had received nothing but messages of support.
She told the Chronicle: "I'm absolutely overwhelmed by how warm, kind and supportive Barnsley people have been."
