AN appeal for information has been launched by a Mapplewell micro pub after burglars struck in the early hours of Thursday morning.

The Old Bakery, on Blacker Road, was broken into at around 1am and a till containing around £200 was taken in the raid.

Bev Bedford and John Shaw, who have run the pub since it opened around a year ago, did not let the setback affect trade and opened for business as usual last night after a day cleaning up the mess.

“We’re certainly not letting it defeat us and we’d like anyone with information to contact the police,” Bev told the Chronicle. “Hopefully those responsible will be caught.”

Contact police on 101 if you have any information about the break-in.
