A MAN handed a suspended sentence last month for two ram-raid style burglaries went on a crime spree and has now been remanded in custody.

Barnsley Magistrates' Court was told Shane Greenwood burgled a house in Crookes Lane, Carlton. He took two pairs of curtains, a key to a shed and a key to a Ford Focus.

Geenwood then entered the shed and took five bikes before driving off in the Ford Focus. The Ford Focus was then captured on CCTV as it was being driven from the Asda car park in Midland Road Royston.

The court was told Greenwood and another man were in the car which was used to carry £756 worth of sprits and razor blades taken during a burglary at the store.

Greenwood was also said to have stolen a quantity of food from Royston Co-op and assaulted two shop assistants by punching them in the face and head.

Greenwood, 31, of Burton Crescent, Carlton pleaded guilty to all charges against him. He was remanded into custody and is due to be sentenced on October 4.
