Injured centre-back Peter Ramage is hoping to be playing in the Premier League with Crystal Palace next season but will spend the rest of the season supporting loan club Barnsley and has not ruled out a permanent move to Oakwell.

The 30-year-old – who is likely to miss the remainder of the campaign with a hamstring tear – has another year on his contract with the Eagles, who are battling relegation from the top flight, and is hoping to be part of new manager Tony Pulis' plans.

"I would like to have another crack at the Premier League so ideally next season I will be playing at that level for Palace," said Ramage, who has made 24 appearances for the Reds since joining on a season-long loan in August.

"But we don't know what league they will be in and whether I will be in the manger's plans. If I am not then I will look for another club.  I have really enjoyed my time at Barnsley and coming here for longer would be an option but it depends what league they are in as well."
