A RAPIST who forced his way into a stranger's home and subjected her to one of the most horrific attacks police officers had ever seen has been jailed for 12 years.

Matthew David Jones, 30, went to the 21-year-old woman's home at 3am on March 8 and made her perform a series of sex acts at knife-point.

Jones - who previously worked at the Shaw Inn pub where his partner was the manager - pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, two sexual assaults and one of false imprisonment.

Sentencing him at Sheffield Crown Court on Tuesday, Judge Sarah Wright branded him dangerous and told him he would serve 12 years in prison and another eight on licence.

DS Rob Platts said: "The victim was subjected to a horrific and sustained attack in her own home. She has remained strong throughout despite what has happened to her but is undergoing support sessions in an attempt to get over this and get her life back to normal."
