Barnsley stayed just outside the League One top six after they conceded a late leveller in a 2-2 draw at leaders Bristol City.
Bristol took an early lead after Jean Yves M'voto conceded a penalty but Jabo Ibehre levelled just before half-time then set up Josh Scowen to put the Reds ahead seven minutes into the second half. Joe Bryan levelled with six minutes to go to leave seventh-placed Barnsley outside of the play-off places on goal difference after Rochdale sneaked above them into sixth place.
On his return to the club where he spent six years as a player, Barnsley head coach Lee Johnson made six changes to the team that drew 1-1 with Preston a week earlier.

New goalkeepr Joe Wildsmith made his first career start in goal with the first choice stoppers Ross Turnbull and Adam Davies both injured and Christian Dibble with Wales under 21s. Declan John received a late call-up to the full Welsh team so he was replaced at left-back by George Smith while right-back Mason Holgate missed the match through injury and was replaced by M'voto. Ben Pearson and Scowen returned from illness and injury in place of James Bailey and John O'Sullivan, who has returned to parent club Blackburn Rovers. Ibehre replaced George Waring up front.

Bristol took the lead when M'voto, on his first appearance under Johnson, felled Kieran Agard in the box and Marlon Pack converted from the spot on 13 minutes.
Bryan headed a good chance wide and Aaron Wilbraham was just off target with a long-range effort but Barnsley made it an even game and looked threatening then scored an equaliser on 44 minutes.

Ibehre, who had caused problems throughout, brought down Martin Cranie's free-kick on his chest, outmuscled the City defence and fired into the bottom left corner ten yatds out via a deflection.

Ibehre set up the second goal soon after the break when he brilliantly dinked the ball over Aden Flint's head and played through Scowen who rounded the goalkeeper and netted from a tight angle.
City eventually levelled in the 84th minute when Wildsmith, who made two outstanding saves in the previous minute, fumbled a long-range shot from Bryan into his bottom left corner.

The home side looked the most likely to steal a winner in the final minutes but the Reds held on for a point.
