Liam Lindsay admits the mood in the Oakwell dressing room was 'deflated' on Saturday despite their last-minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

The Reds led 1-0 until the final ten minutes but a controversial penalty for an alleged shirtpull by George Moncur let Bolton make it 1-1 before they took the lead then Oliver McBurnie levelled in injury-time.

The result left Barnsley in the relegation, two points from safety but with a game in hand over Bolton and the other sides directly above them.

Centre-back Lindsay said: "There are positives and negatives. We got back into it with a massive, massive goal. We've got the point, it's still in our hands and we will go again.

"I thought the first half was our half and they didn't threaten. We felt comfortable in the second half but they got the penalty decision, which I thought was soft and the referee just wanted to give it.

"Then they went into the lead. That shouldn't happen but it did. We got the equaliser but we were a bit deflated afterwards."

Lindsay has played often with Adam Jackson in recent weeks but saw his centre-back partner come off injured at half-time and be replaced by Ethan Pinnock. It is one of the most well-catered positions in the squad with Matt Mills, Matty Pearson and Jason McCarthy also capable of playing there.

"The standard at centre half is good. We have got Matt Mills and Ethan who can just come in ahead of anyone. If anything happens like it did to Jacko, it's just an easy change."
