Barnsley are running the rule over three overseas trialists, one of whom is Norwegian international Thomas Drage.

The 23-year-old left sided midfielder, who won his first and only cap in 2012, is out of contract with top-flight Tromso and spent last season on loan to second division Sogndal.

Head coach Lee Johnson said of Drage: "He's got good pedigree, an international cap and he's also played in the Europa league.

"He's bright, he's got a turn of pace, he can drop his shoulder and go past people."

The other trialists have also impressed Johnson who will continue to assess them.

He added: "The three trialists have all done well and looked comfortable at the level and we will see how they go on.

"It might be a case of extending their trials. They are keen to prove that they can produce in England."
