Barnsley won 7-1 at Conference North York City with seven different socrers in their second pre-season friendly.

The hosts took the lead but Tom Bradshaw, Brad Potts and Kieffer Moore all scored within four first half minutes. The second half saw goals by Victor Adeboyejo, George Moncur, Mamadou Thiam and Dylan Mottley-Henry.

Barnsley almost took the lead when Potts skipped past several players to go clean through but was denied by a good save from Adam Bartlett in the home goal.

But the hosts were ahead three minutes later when Jackson's attempted clearance fell to Jon Parkin, from Darfield, who crossed from the right to strike partner Jake Wright who headed in from two yards out.

The Reds struggled in the first half an hour but began to create chances as Lloyd Isgrove's swerving shot hit the bar and Bradshaw forced Bartlett into another save.

The equaliser came on 37 minutes when Moore's effort was saved but the ball was tapped in on the line by Bradshaw, who then set up the second goal with a fine cross from the right which was brilliantly volleyed into the bottom right corner by Potts.

It was three goals in four minutes when Ryan Hedges attempted an audacious lob from 25 yards and Bartlett clawed it out but Moore tapped in from four yards out. Liam Lindsay almost made it 4-1 at half-time but crashed a header against the bar.

Daniel Stendel made ten changes at half-time with only goalkeeper Jack Walton staying on. Thiam became the third visiting player to hit the bar with a fierce strike from the right of the box which thudded down into the line and out.

It was 4-1 on 58 minutes when Adeboyejo fired in from a tight angle on the right of the box then Moncur got the next from the penalty spot after Hamza Bencheriff handled Thiam's corner.

Thiam then hit the frame of the goal again after shot crashed against the left post, but he eventually got on the scoresheet when he received the ball from Moncur on a counter-attack, beat a man and fired in. Mottley-Henry made it 7-1 after a back heel put him through one-on-one and he finished well.

Thiam almost scored another when he showed great pace to latch onto Alex Mowatt's throughball but the goalkeeper got a hand on his shot then it was saved off the line.
