Barnsley today swooped to complete the signing of giant French defender Jean-Yves M'voto on a two-year deal.

The 6ft 4" centre-half left Oldham in the summer after making 123 appearances and had been linked with a reunion with Paul Dickov at Doncaster and even featured in a pre-season friendly for Rovers.

M'Voto, 24, told Barnsley's website: "I'm very happy to be in Barnsley now. I heard about the move a couple of days ago. I had a talk with the manager, I like his project and everything he said. I just wanted to come to Barnsley."

Jean-Yves began his career with PSG but joined Sunderland in 2008. He appeared on loan for Southend and Oldham before joining the Latics on a permanent deal in 2011.
