BARNSLEY Football Club is looking into installing electric vehicle charging points at Oakwell due to growing demand from fans.

The stadium, which does not currently have any charging facilities for visitors whose cars are either battery-powered or plug-in hybrid models, is the subject of an internal review which could pave the way for points to be placed in the site’s car park.

A spokesman told the Chronicle: “The club recognises that electric cars are becoming more popular, so it is looking into the possibility of having charging points at Oakwell.”
