HOYLAND'S Remembrance Sunday parade which faced being scaled back because of police cuts will now go ahead in full - thanks to a local businessman.

Organisers had been forced to curtail the parade on Sunday for the first time since the Second World War because there were no police to marshall it.

But now a private firm in Manchester, Go Traffic Management which belongs to Dodworth man Lee Pilling, has stepped in to help.

Bob Hill, the RBL's parade marshal, said: "Social media went into meltdown on Friday catching us all by surprise. I'm amazed how people have rallied and can now confirm the Hoyland parade is back on in full as planned."
