A NUMBER of temporary road closures will be in place on Sunday to allow Remembrance parades and services to take place across the borough.

Between 9.30am and 1.30pm in the town centre Sadler Gate, May Day Green, Church Street, St Mary’s Gate, Market Hill, Cheapside, Kendray Street, Shambles Street, Eldon Street, Royal Street, Queen Street and New Street will be closed.

Stopping, parking and waiting on these roads between 6am and 5pm will also be restricted.

Around the rest of the borough the follwoing road closures will take place:

Church Street in Darfield between 10.30am and noon;

Church Street in Darton between 9.30am and 9.45am and then again at 11.15am and 11.30am;

High Street in Dodworth between 10.30am and 11.30am;

Brierley Road and St Luke’s Road in Grimethorpe will both be closed between 9.30am and 11.30am;

Kirk Balk, High Street, Southgate and West Street in Hoyland will be closed between 10.30am and noon;

Blacker Road in Mapplewell will be closed between 10.30am and 11.30am;

Well Lane, High Street and Cross Street in Monk Bretton will be closed between 10.45am and 11.30am;

Back Road, Schole Avenue, Park Avenue, High Street, Market Street, Shrewsbury Road, Market Place, Church Street and St Mary’s Street in Penistone will be closed between 10.30am and 12.45pm;

Martin Croft in Silkstone will be closed between 10.15am and 11.30am;

Halifax Road, Cote Lane and Smithy Hill in Thurgoland will be closed between 10.45am and 11.15am;

Summer Lane, George Street, High Street, Park Street and Kelvin Grove in Wombwell will be closed between 9.30am and 11.30am.

On Monday in the town centre there will be an additional service where Sadler Gate, St Mary’s Gate and Church Street will be closed between 10.30am and noon and there will be no stopping, parking or waiting between 6am and 1pm.
