DAVID Mills and his border collie Poppy are just your average Barnsley residents - until they get a call to say someone's life is in danger.
Both are members of the Yorkshire And Lincolnshire Search and Rescue (YALSAR) team, and are regularly called out in emergency situations when police and ambulance services suspect someone is injured or missing.
Poppy is being trained as a lowland search and rescue dog, with the goal of becoming the only qualified lowland search dog north of London.
