POLICE have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a popular restaurant was broken into - for the third time in recent months.

Frankie and Benny’s, at Doncaster Road, Stairfoot, was targeted at around 3am on March 24 and sustained damage to its main entrance.

The cash draw was taken from the till, which has since been found by officers on the Trans Pennine Trail.

Officers are treating the incident as being linked to two other occasions in which the restaurant was broken into, once last month in which cash and an iPad was stolen and also in October last year, when offenders broke in and stole a quantity of cash.

If you have any information that could assist with enquiries, please call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111 quoting incident number 130 of March 24.
