The Reds have made Halifax Town centre-back Marc Roberts their first signing of the summer.
The 24-year-old, from Barnsley, joins on a three-year deal after his contract ran out with the Conference club.
The centre-back has made 93 appearances for Halifax and allegedly attracted interest from Championship Clubs.
