Marc Roberts feels he is taking his chance back in the Barnsley side.

The central defender, 25, came back into the Reds starting eleven in place of Kevin Long at the weekend and has helped Barnsley to two clean sheets. He admits that he is pleased with how he has played.

He said: "I think I've come in and done all right. I've got to still improve as a player and I'm looking to do that.

"It was frustrating being on the sidelines for that spell and you don't feel as much a part of it but we've got a good group of players and everyone is together and you celebrate together whether you're in the team or not.

"You've got to keep working hard in training and when your chance comes you've got to take it.

"I've not played for a while so the first game back is always a tough one and heavy on the legs and to have two games in quick succession, I'm pleased to have come through them with two clean sheets. That's what we are here for.

"I think we showed great character as a young team to stick together and grind out a good point at Bury.

"We had to be resilient as a team and that comes from the front."
