A SIX-YEAR-OLD girl has been left without a school to go to after their parents moved to Barnsley from Cumbria.

Denis Lynch is locked in a dispute with the council about where to send his daughter Charlie - she is currently stuck at home.

Former publican Denis, 65, retired in the summer and decided to make a fresh start in Worsbrough Common with his wife Molly, 40.

He applied to send Charlie to Worsbrough Common Primary more than two months ago and thought everything was in order until he took her for her first week last week and was told the confirmation still hadn't come though from the council that she could attend.

He said he visited the school before the summer break and liked it, so he got in touch with the council and received and sent back all the relevant paperwork.
