A NOTORIOUS Royston street will be the ‘number one priority’ for the area’s new enforcement officer, the Chronicle can reveal.

Milgate Street, which has been the subject of mounting complaints regarding antisocial behaviour, absent landlords, fly-tipping, arson attacks and criminal damage, will be targeted by Jeanette Millward, the officer who has been employed on a 12-month contract by the North East Area Council.

A crime meeting held at Outwood Academy, Carlton, took place last Thursday and saw representatives from the Barnsley East Local Policing Team (LPT), Barnsley Council and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue meet to discuss the street’s well-documented issues.
