OFFICERS searching for missing Barnsley man Brian Tomlinson have found a body.
At around 11.45am today, the body of a man was found by specialist search officers in Small Bridge Dyke on the Trans Pennine Trail between Lundwood and Cudworth.
While formal identification has not yet taken place, officers do believe it to be that of 80-year-old Brian Tomlinson. Brian’s family have been notified and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
The death is not being treated as suspicious however officers remain in the area carrying out enquiries.
South Yorkshire Police expressed thanks to the members of the local community who have assisted in the search for Brian.
