TELEVISION star Sam Nixon is encouraging star bakers to raise some ‘dough’ for Barnsley Hospice by supporting the Big Barnsley Bake Off.

Sam, a Masterchef finalist who presents CBBC’s Junior Bake Off, has given his support to the campaign for the second year, which aims to raise much-needed cash for the Barnsley Hospice throughout September and October.

Individuals, schools, businesses and community groups in Barnsley are being urged to host their own tea party, cake sale, or bake off event to raise money.

As an added incentive, Sam, from Monk Bretton, will present a ‘star baker’ certificate to whoever raises the most money, and a ‘show stopper’ award for the most creative bake.
