A TWO-YEAR home improvement scheme will modernise more than 450 rented properties in Cudworth and Shafton.
Berneslai Homes announced that 347 dwellings in the two villages will receive work as part of the Barnsley Homes Standard Programme for 2016/17, while a further 112 have been earmarked for the 2017/18 financial year.
Homes requiring work will be given a new lease of life as part of the extensive project, which started in Shafton on June 23, with new kitchens, bathrooms, boilers, roofs and flooring fitted.

Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
