Three new scouts joined up in an unusual place - underground at the National Coalmining Museum.
Matthew Simpson, Kai Read and Euan Clayton, all ten, were inducted to the 9th Barnsley Scouts (Wombwell) while 459ft underground during a visit to the former Cap House Colliery, Overton.
Scout admin worker Simon Foster-Jowett said the group wanted to do something different for the most recent inductees and also allow them to learn more about Wombwell's mining heritage.
She said: "They had the investment then had an underground tour followed by a look around the museum above ground. They all enjoyed themselves and we hope to do it again in the future."
