A SERVICE which loans out equipment to support the care needs and independence of adults and children in Barnsley has been featured on the One Show.

The Barnsley integrated community equipment service, which loans out equipment to help with mobility, bathing and toilet needs, community nursing beds and handling and lifting equipment, was featured on the BBC show as part of an ongoing campaign by presenter Kevin Duala to save NHS money by recycling equipment such as crutches as well as other home and mobility aids.

The One Show team came to the depot at Grange Lane Industrial Estate in Barnsley to highlight how the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is ‘leading the way’ in recycling 93 per cent of kit, saving the NHS thousands each year.
