ARMED robbers were chased out by the shopkeeper at a Wath store.

At 7.30am on September 29, two men, one armed with a gun, went into the Best One Store on Quarry Hill Road.

They attempted to get money from the till and demanded cash.

But the would-be robbers failed to get any money and were chased out by the shopkeeper along Gypsy Green Lane, towards Woodlands Road.

Police are now appealing to see if anyone saw the people responsible.

The men are believed to have arrived in a vehicle from the direction of Gypsy Green Lane, where it meets Woodlands Road.

The man with the gun is described as being white, 6ft and fit and wearing a dark, camouflage hooded top and blue Adidas bottoms with a white stripe.

The second man is described as being white, 5ft 7ins and stocky, wearing dark clothes and a thigh length dark coat. Both had local Yorkshire accents.

At around 7.15am, three men wearing balaclavas and a similar camouflage coat were seen on Winterwell Road, Wath.

No arrests have yet been made but police would like to speak to anyone who may have seen them.
