TOWN Centre shoppers will be tracked by sophisticated pedestrian monitoring equipment to help officials learn more about Barnsley town centre and make plans for its future.
The first phase of creating the new Barnsley Town plan will concentrate on closely examining existing patterns of behaviour amongst visitors and shoppers.
That will include sophisticated monitors which will accurately log how long visitors spend in the town centre, where they go and for how long.
There will also be in-depth surveys amongst shoppers to find out their thoughts, their shopping habits and what improvements and additions they would like to see.
