TRAFFIC-CALMING measures have been installed on a road described as an ‘accident blackspot’ by campaigners.
Two signs, which warn motorists about Notton’s infamous crossroads, were put in place on Bleakley Lane as part of builder Jones Homes’ planning conditions for its development at the nearby former Oliver Twist pub site.
Long-time campaigner Steve Selby, who has called on Wakefield Council to do something about the ‘lethal’ stretch of road for more than a decade, hailed it as a ‘step in the right direction’ in his quest for more anti-speeding measures between Royston and Notton.
