COMMONWEALTH Games silver medallist Luke Cutts is back home in Thurnscoe and hopes his achievements will inspire local children.

The pole vaulter, 26, cleared 5.55m before losing out on gold to fellow countryman Steve Lewis in a jump-off at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Friday evening.

Luke is now preparing to jet out to Switzerland for the European Championships and will also be a contender for the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
