SHE has spent more than 30 years counting calories and helping thousands of slimmers shed hundreds of stones but now Weigh In slimming club leader Lindsey Mitchell is about to hold her last class.

The 64-year-old has run classes in Cudworth, Royston and Barnsley town centre for the past 30 years, and has decided it is finally time to retire to spend more time at home and travelling with her husband Bill.

Lindsey, of Pontefract Road, Cudworth, first got involved in the world of slimming when she herself joined a class in Wakefield aged 32 and lost five stones. She then began leading a class and started her first Barnsley class at the old Portcullis Club in Pitt Street.

The classes grew, as did Lindsey's fame amongst those desperate to weigh less.
