FOLKS are ‘cueing’ out the door at Barnsley a snooker club - but not just to pot balls.

The Corner Pocket at Hoyle Mill - owned by 1986 world snooker champion Joe Johnson - is now also home to a small restaurant two nights a week - Bistro @ The Pocket - and the new venture is going down with diners like a black ball smashed into the pocket by Joe himself.

Chef, Johnny Johnson, Joe’s son, said one side of the snooker hall, on Elm Row, has been transformed into an eatery and word of mouth alone has seen diner numbers rocket in the three months since it opened, regularly racking up to 50 folk on Wednesdays and as many as 80 for Sunday lunch.
