PEOPLE working in the careers sector still have time to make the most of tailored courses at Barnsley College.

Those employed in the careers guidance or information services field and who want to advance qualifications will find it’s not too late to enrol.

The college has places available on a range of business-related courses, including level three and four advice and guidance, level six careers guidance and development and level two and three libraries, archives and information services.

These courses are delivered entirely within the workplace, meaning students can study around work and family commitments.

Former level six career guidance and development student and current Barnsley College assessor, Allyson Hardy, said: “Throughout my career, I have studied continuously, for professional development and personal enjoyment, and the level six career guidance and development course felt like the next step for me.

“By completing this course I was able to provide further support to my own students in terms of their career progression and encourage students studying while trying to balance work and family life.”

Students who enrol to a level three course or above and who are 19 or over may qualify for an advanced learner loan. Taking out a loan will provide students with the fees to pay for a course that could lead to their chosen career.
