SPEED indicators warning traffic approaching Thurgoland from each direction are to be installed on the A629 which runs through the village, residents have been told.

Concerns were raised in the spring about the scale of problems caused for pedestrians by traffic passing through the village, which has a speed limit of 30mph.

Parents of children who attend the village primary school have complained about the volume and speed of traffic, with some stating the presence of parked cars belonging to parents collecting or dropping off children outside the school was helpful because it created an obstacle which slowed approaching traffic.
