Barnsley coach Andreas Winkler says tomorrow’s match at Accrington Stanley will ‘feel like a home game.’

The Reds – who have played five consecutive matches at Oakwell – have sold almost 2,500 tickets for tomorrow’s game at the Crown Ground which holds 5,000.

Winkler said: “If you have supporters like the Barnsley supporters, it will feel like a sixth home game. We will bring a half of the fans and it will be almost like a home match.”

The Reds are unbeaten in 15 at home and will now visit a club who have not lost in ten on their own turf. Accrington are seventh in League One, three points and three places behind Barnsley. They have picked up more points away than at home this season but the only side to beat them at the Crown Ground were Gillingham on the opening day of the campaign.

Stanley have won six of their last seven at home, with the other being a 1-1 draw with leaders Portsmouth. Coach Andreas Winkler said: “They have really a strong side and their manager has been there for a long time.

“We have seen a lot of clips of them and done a lot of preparation. They play with ball possession but also direct play to their forwards. They have a really good rhythm, especially at home where they have lost just one match. They have a lot of pace.

“In November the table doesn’t lie so they deserve to be seventh but, if we show our best performance and give them a real fight, we have a good chance to get a draw or a win.I know they were in a commercial which is very famous in this country.”
