Daniel Stendel is satisfied with a point at second-placed Luton Town and admits his players tired in the final 45 minutes of a gruelling festive schedule.

The Reds drew 0-0 at Kenilworth Road to stay fourth, six points behind Luton with a game in hand.  Stendel said: “The result is OK for both teams. We were the better team in the first half and Luton were better in the second half.

“In the first half, I was sure we would win this game - we played well and had chances. In the second half it was different but it is normal after we play so many games in a short time and the players give everything. A lot of those players had played every game in the last weeks.

“We had the better chances but we didn’t score. I am very proud of my team’s performance. There is a good mood in the dressing room and now we have a lot of chances to win our next games. We want to win but I am satisfied with a point."

Cauley Woodrow missed a one-on-one chance in the ninth minute, chipping wide when he looked certain to score. Stendel said: “It was a big chance and, if we had gone 1-0 in front, we would win this game, but we didn’t have the luck to score today.”

Ben Williams, 19, came in at left-back for the injured Dani Pinillos as he was chosen ahead of Zeki Fryers.  Stendel said: “Ben came into the first team and did very well. I am satisfied with him.  We have a lot of good players in the squad and my opinion was that Ben was better in shape for this game. It might be Zeki next week.”

Williams added: “Coming away and getting a point especially against a side who have been unbeaten since we beat them (in October) is good for us. We could have scored but we are happy with the point. We are on a good run.”
