Steve Croft, the Barnsley FC volunteer who suffered a heart attack at Oakwell last month, has returned home.

The 61-year-old collapsed minutes before the game against Burton Albion on September 22, which was then called off.

He was saved by medical staff from both clubs as well as paramedics before being airlifted to hospital by an air ambulance helicopter which landed on the pitch.

Assistant coach Andreas Winkler said at yesterday’s press conference: “Steve Croft is back home now which is very good news.”
