STOCKSBRIDGE is the only Yorkshire nomination to make the 2018 shortlist for ‘Britain’s Best Walking Neighbourhood’.

Organised by the Ramblers, the prestigious award recognises an area where walking is a safe, pleasant and easy way to travel.

“Stocksbridge with its hills, green surroundings and many waymarked footpaths is the prime walking centre of the South Pennines,” said Dave Pickersgill.

“As, according to the Ramblers the best walking area in Yorkshire, it fully deserves inclusion on the shortlist and is a deserved contender for the overall accolade.”
