A GROUP of Barnsley College catering and hospitality students have visited Paris to enhance their knowledge of French cuisine and culture.

The three-day trip provided the students with an opportunity to see how bread and pastry bakeries operated and achieved customer satisfaction.

The group also saw the sights of Paris, including the Arc de Triomphe, Le Monument a la Republique and enjoyed walking through the gardens of the Louvre.

Students also enjoyed eating in a French bistro where they had the chance to try French delicacies such as frogs’ legs and snails.

Martyn Hollingsworth, catering and hospitality course leader at the college, said: “The students were a credit to themselves and the college.

“Educational visits like this provide our students with an opportunity to further develop their understanding of a particular subject.”

The college hope to gather feedback from their students to use to help plan for next year’s visit.
