THEY have already got them rolling in the aisles at the Academy Theatre in Birdwell.

This year's panto Dick Whittington and his Cat is about to start its second week of performances and ticket sales for the 2014 season are better than ever before.

The show has been proving a hit with children and grown-ups alike with families flocking to catch the seasonal favourite.

"The reaction has been overwhelming", says producer/director James Brandon. "It is proving to be a perfect blend of comedy, up-to-date songs and traditional pantomime fun."

The show runs at the theatre every day until December 31 with morning, afternoon and evening performances.
