ICELAND in the Alhambra will open exclusively for OAPs to shop amid the coronavirus outbreak.
The town centre store will be open from 8.30am to 10.30am on Wednesday for people over the age of 65 or with disabilities, who are at a higher risk of the virus.
The Food Warehouse, based at the Peel Centre on Harborough Hill Road, is also offering a priority shopping hour for the elderly and most vulnerable from tomorrow, from 8am to 9am.
In a statement issued by The Food Warehouse, it said: “During this time, we ask the public to respect this time period, in order to allow our more vulnerable customers to pick up the supplies they need.”
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
