A STATIONARY bike has been set up at Barnsley Hospice’s reception this week on which staff have been putting in the miles to raise cash.
Inspired by the Tour de Yorkshire event, staff came up with the idea to have their own event - dubbed Tour de Hospice - and an exercise bike was donated to the cause by On Par, a Barnsley-based rehabilitation gym.
A spokesman from the hospice said: “A huge thank you has to be said to staff, volunteers and supporters who have kept the pedals going between 10am and 3pm every single day this week.”

On Sunday, a fundraising day in aid of the hospice will take place at Barnsley Trades Club. Doors open at 1pm and there is a raffle, auction and live entertainment. Tickets cost £3.
