A SWIMMING school is making a splash as it celebrates ten years of helping kids get their feet wet.
Puddle Ducks, which puts on swimming classes at DW Fitness on Harborough Hill Road and Greenacre School, is celebrating ten years of success.
Puddle Ducks owner Faye Burrell, from Outwood in Wakefield, took a ‘leap of faith’ setting the company up in 2009.
“Swimming has always been a big part of my life,” she said. “As a child I swam competitively for local teams including Wakefield Swimming Club, as well as a synchronised swimming team. When my first child was born, I knew how important it was for her to learn to swim from a young age.
“When I spotted that there was an available territory with Puddle Ducks here in my own community, I knew I had to take the leap of faith and go for it.
“I would like to thank everyone who has swum with us during the last ten years.
“We have a wonderful team who all believe passionately in what we do. It’s been an absolutely amazing experience, bring on the next ten years.”
Puddle Ducks provides baby and children swimming lessons across Wakefield, Barnsley and Leeds.
It also provides swimming classes for mums-to-be.
The company provides a total of 122 classes a week, teaching more than 700 swimmers - a far cry from the six children Faye would teach weekly when she started in 2009.
