A taekwondo group has achieved Clubmark status in recognition of its work to inspire more people to participate in the sport.
Quest Taekwondo, which trains at Penistone Grammar School, was awarded the national standard for club development and operation by South Yorkshire Sport.
Quest was founded in 1988 by Mike McKenzie and now has clubs across West Yorkshire and Merseyside, as well as the lead venue in Penistone, which formed in 2010 and has 100 members aged from four to 50.
Mike is national development officer for British Taekwondo and was sport manager at London 2012.
He said: “We’re extremely proud to have been presented with this award. It shows that we are providing the right environment and facilities to ensure the welfare and safety of members and encourage them to stay involved with the sport throughout their lives.
"Our goal is to help our members achieve their full potential and, to do this, it's essential to have excellent coaches and a clear development programme."
Mark Needham, chairman of the Quest Taekwondo management team, accepted the award at an Olympic-themed training day held to mark the one year anniversary of the London 2012 Taekwondo competition.
Jo Drapier, from South Yorkshire Sport said: "I am very proud to present Quest Taekwondo with the Clubmark accreditation exactly one year on from the start of the London 2012 Taekwondo competition.
"The award recognises the great work the club is doing to inspire more people to participate in sport and continue our Olympic legacy."
