A TEENAGE boy is in hospital in a serious condition with potentially life-changing injuries following a collision in Brierley.
The boy was travelling along Common Road on a white Moto Race scooter at about 1.45pm on Wednesday when he is said to have swerved to avoid another vehicle, described as a red 4x4, travelling in the opposite direction.
The scooter then hit the kerb before colliding with a parked car, causing minor damage to it. The collision happened close to the junction of Norwood Drive.
The boy, 17, was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
We have been at the heart of our community, every week, since 1858. The town and its people have changed dramatically since then but the Chronicle has been a constant.
It’s our belief that news should be available to everyone regardless of their circumstance. But we need a little helping hand to do so.
Production Editor, Ashley Ball, said: "In an ever changing media world, it’s important that news is reported correctly and without any hidden agenda.
Your support allows us to keep holding decision-makers to account and report on everything that happens in the town, good or bad, fairly."
