A 15-YEAR-OLD joyrider will be sentenced at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court next week having pleaded guilty to a catalogue of motoring-related offences.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, drove a Ford Ka on Burton Road, Barnsley, on October 30 before filling up with petrol and driving off without paying.

He pleaded guilty to making off without payment, driving without a licence, driving without insurance and failing to surrender to police at Barnsley Magistrates’ Court on November 20. He appeared at the same court on Tuesday for sentencing, but the case was adjourned until next Tuesday so an unrelated offence - namely dropping litter in a public place - could be added to his list.
