A TEENAGER with incurable cancer has proposed to the love of his life from his hospital bed - on Valentine's Day.

Daniel Binney, 19, popped the question to girlfriend Emily Batty, 18, at Northern General after undergoing surgery to move a tumour in his spine.

The brave teen said he would have loved to ask Emily – a cancer survivor herself – in the traditional way but couldn't because he was in too much pain following the major operation.

"I wanted to go down on one knee and ask her properly and be romantic but I was in a lot of pain. She had to stand by the bed instead."

His family are now on a mission to fulfil his ultimate wish - a night with his family at the Shangri-La hotel at the Shard in London.
