A BARNSLEY man missed out on a medal after representing his home country of Wales in the Teqball World Cup.

Ash Randall, 29, is a professional freestyle footballer with transferable skills perfect for the world of Teqball.

Teqball was invented in 2015 in Budapest and is a hybrid of table tennis and football and boasts several superstar fans including Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez.

Ash, who lives in Dodworth, said he couldn’t wait to get to France for the World Cup and pull on his Wales shirt.

Ash and his doubles partner Curtis, narrowly missed out at the group stage and failed to get into the final 16.

Ash has set 19 Guinness World Records during his nine-year career as a professional freestyle footballer and his most recent feat was the ‘longest time juggling a football on the soles of your feet on a moving car’, which he managed to do for 90 seconds.
